is it clever to rush for a Gmail invite?

    I'm not sure anymore.
With so many invites all around the globe chances are that the very moment Google decides to release it, I'll be forced to sign for something like: myname3158000002@gmail.com

So, I give up! Please send a PM and invite me, if you still have an invitation.

    Thanks.

No, I don't think it's smart to rush in. But I've just sent you an invite in a Private Message.

Jan, the link has expired. It seems that is more than three weeks old.

The link I sent you couldn't be more fresh. However, a lot of them don't seem to work at the moment. After all, it's only in beta.

Jan, I guess the link you sent me arrived mutilated. The last part is:

    a-71...e07a-6baea16b65

compare with the good one I received:

    a-7c8e8da566-61de20b2fb-4c544427fb

    A PM problem?

It used to be that people would resort to paying a few dollars on eBay or swapping something for a GMail account, but now so many people have accounts and get invites to give away that all you have to do is ask. Good way to keep the hype going though.

but recently i found lot of errors on gmail ... messages like "oops there was a problem" etc etc ... so maybe they will need some more time to come out of the beta ...

I see the "..." also as link text in the PM message, but when pointing to it I see the correct URL in the status line. If you don't, there could be a PM problem. But in the forum link I posted there are really lots of complaints today of invites that don't work.

I have some invites but an error in gmail won't let the links work at all so I can't even send them anyways.

Yup - Me2. PM an email address away and I'll be more than happy to get rid of an invite.
