Visit http://www.cuff-daddy.com and http://store.cuff-daddy.com and then look at http://cuff-daddy.com (If posting url is violation of any rule then let me know, i will delete it. it just listed to get correct help from all of u) Will it count as canonical issue. Cause i am peforming good in MSN but not good in Yahoo and Google. What exactly is canonical issue????
Here is some background info for those not familiar with the term "canonical issue" (I must have fallen a bit out of the loop as I hadn't heard that term) http://www.seomoz.org/blogdetail.php?ID=360
Unless I'm missing something those two sites are exactly the same - i.e. duplicate content. There may be some canonical issues but they will take a back seat to the duplicate content issues. Canonical problems can be a real bastard, I know becuase I'm dealing with trying to clean up some huge canonical problems on a site I'm responsible for. To put it in simple terms, canonical problems are a result of using different links within your site (or external) to link to the same content. Let's say for example you post a new article to your site in it's articles section. You link to the article from your index using the url ww w.tomyarticle#1.com/article/thisisit.php In an archive or other section of your site you link to the exact same article but you use the url ww w.tomyarticle#1.com/article/thisisit.php?ID=4 What you've done is basically created duplicate content within your own site. The best description I've seen of the problem is in the SEOmoz.org search ranking factors article: It's most common to see this issue with the www vs non www primary url, but it's more complex to correct (imo) when it's spread throughout a database driven site that was incorrectly built right from the start.
