I have not really tested this and that is why I am asking I usually set the color of the border to the color of the background so there is no border but is it better to have a border I am setting ads for my site topfamousquotes.com and amazingspeed.info thanks for your input.
I had borders on my site blended in with the colour slightly but I found it put people off the ads so I totally removed both the border and my colour background and it seems to have worked a treat. So deff NO borders !
I'd agree with bad company. You want your ads to blend nicely with your content. Borders make it very obvious that your ads are in fact ads!
A couple days ago i removed borders from some ads, not from them all, to experiment, il see how it goes after about a week but ive a feeling no border is probably better.
You must put on borders, only if you have some images very close to the ad. Either the images are put in a border, or the ads should have a border in such instances. But if you have text around, with few images, it is generally a good idea to blend the ads with the background, without a border...
i have wondered this many times and have come to the conclusion that no border is best, simply because it looks better and doesnt glare "click me i'm an advert!" at you. simple psychology really!
if the borders are blended with your site so it is good to have a border but i think if u wanna make a contrast ads than you have a border around your ads
no border would be used if u hav a majority of regular users visitng ur site, but in case you have a very targeted traffic, an adsense unit with border would fetch same result as users are drawn towards the sites closely related to your ads content
achusoline eh I never knew that and I have used targeted traffic alot...thanks for the info I might try it next time I get some targeted traffic.
