Say you were a vendor to 5 popular Clickbank products (all in different niches) - and used different author pen names for each one. And so whenever you had a customer email, you would reply using that pen name. Logical right. But what if an affiliate sends you a support email? Would you reply with your real name or pen name? Preferably I'd choose to remain anonymous, but what if I had potential JV offer or what if a super aff. wanted to chat on Skype? Then what? Any suggestions?
You want to get personal with people to build relationship. Relationship leads to trust, and people like to work with real people. It is a good way to brand yourself.
I agree with blog about nothing nothing is better than having trust between you and the customer. Make them feel better about working with you
^ Yup agreed. It is JV partners that you actually want rather than newbie affiliates... I don't think you can get very far with JVs if you don't reveal your identity... I never really hid who I was or anything, but since I started talking with or trying to reach out to new people on skype my business has exploded in size... and on the other side of this when I come across someone who is clearly nervous about their identity then it never goes anywhere... they are often inexperienced in JVs, and have smaller lists, without any real power / value.... but I don't think this is a reflection on their skills / time in IM... more a reflection that they don't network, can't reach out to people and so don't grow as fast as people who do.. Youre limiting yourself massively by doing this tbh... if youre businesses are making $10k this year I think you could be making $30k ... if youre at $30k then probably you could make $90k with JVs... step up man... you think anyone who makes it big in the brick and mortar / traditional business world pretends to be someone theyre not / doesn't meet clients cos they want to "protect their identity"?....
Yea, can't really just hide behind the computer screen. Agreed with submp3 about doubling and tripling profit just by showing your identity and truly branding yourself.
If affiliate contact you then you can show your real names and this will help you t build a profitable relationships with the affiliates and this can generate more revenue for you.
I always hid behind pen names but now have decided with my products to come out and tell everyone who i am so people might trust me more
I wouldn't use my real name if I were you. It makes no difference to affiliates what so ever who signs their mails or checks as long as the support is good and the checks keep coming.
Think about this from the perspective of a buyer. Who would you rather buy from - a company or individual you have heard of, or can at least verify on the internet, or an anonymous source? The beauty of brand and reputation is that a person with either will want to protect them, and will therefore play fair. Buyers know this. Think about when you are in a supermarket. You usually gravitate towards the brands you have heard of, even if it is just through TV advertising, as you feel you can trust them. If you are anonymous, then it looks like you have something to hide, and therefore untrustworthy.
It's quite logical to use different pen names for your products, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. A cure for vaginal odors shouldn't be signed by ALEX JONES. The trick is to brand yourself, and there are several ways to do this. For example: You could build a company website, with a brand-able name that links all your products together and shows the potential your network has. On that website you should have a contact page specially for your affiliates and JV's. This way you are branding your products all together under your companies name and building trust, and on that page you can reveal a bit more about yourself. If you are not comfortable with using your real name or your name doesn't sound much like a brand I recommend sticking to one pen name for your network. Try making it a bit more personal by for example, using your first name in your pen name. For skype sessions, just use your first name and when you get to know one another why not reveal yourself. Same goes for real life, I hardly introduce myself with my last name. It's all about branding, think coca cola. WOULD YOU WORK WITH COCA COLA? I would, and I don't know what or who is behind it.
I would rather deal with a real person... so I agree with the trust and relationship posts... you can't seriously put together a business deal with a shadow.
