I have a really great theme (at least i think it is) and so far i sue it one two sites, but i am wondering if its a bad idea to use it on multiple sites.

    Does that affect SEO?
Will it impact negatively in any way?

I change the color schemes/logos etc and the content is very different but its the same theme that i use.

its not bad but why not try a different and unique theme instead of using the old one. People like change and difference, so attract users with your attractive themes.

I don't see it negatively impacting your SEO or anything else in that matter. Aslong as your sites aren't all connected it should be fine

It shouldn't impact negatively at all - the only thing you have to ask yourself is - will it slow me down if I use a different theme and have to learn all its' different foibles? If you can take that time then why not use a different one? If you need to create things fast then it's easier to stick with the one you've got.

Using one theme with minor adjustments saves a lot of time. If you become an expert on two or three themes you will be better off than someone that can simply install any theme, but not customize it.

Start with the one theme. Become really good with it. find a second them later on. You can always come back and change a theme later -- that is why wordpress is so cool. It is easy to change.

I used the same theme on these two sites, but only the "trained" eye can tell. Besides how many people are going to both sites?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Right now I have two main themes that i use for multiple sites. I have gotten very good at modifying them, changing colors, adding headers and moving around sections.

Not at all, G focuses on the page content not the template code.

Actually every theme has some in built structure and mechanism. If any of your theme got pr and caching in few days then it means that theme has very good mechanism therefore, you can use that theme for multiple sites too and if you want to change the looks of that theme then there is no harm if you change header image or change the background image of that theme. this will help you to follow that mechanism (which is good in the eyes of Google) but with a different looks.
    :)

Using the same theme should not present any problems for SEO and ranking purposes but it does leave a footprint unlike a unique theme. However I use the same theme over and over and for now all my sites rank well for the keywords I am targeting.
