is it bad to use .INFO domains?

    Hi Guys!

I own a lot of domains, but they may not be related to the offers that I am building landing pages for, so I thought I should register a new domains for each offer, but seeing as to how I would have to invest $9 or so on a .com domain, it would seem quite costly, being new to the PPC game.

Does google mind .INFO domains or others compared to .com ? since the lower end domains are much cheaper and as cheap as $1 at some places.

    Appreciate the feedback! :D

I'll tell you right now, the most important thing is the relevance of your landing page in relation to the keywords you're using. It's fine for you to continue using the .INFOs as long as they are good quality and your keywords need to be highly targeted towards the content of those landing pages. Google really focuses on landing page quality and relevance. They're not too picky about .INFO. As long as it's high-quality and relevant to your keywords, you should be ok.

I agree with Scot. I have been using quite a few .info domains lately just because I got them for 1.99 and there are more relevant .info domains still available. Never had any trouble with PPC or AdWords.

as far as I've seen so far google doesn't care about the extension

the only thing it may count for is geographical domains where you might have advantage for national serps (I mean if you have a .nl name you might rank better in the netherlands than a .info)

google won't mind, but the person clicking your ad may be less impressed.

I also think that .com domains are better for organic traffic.

All the good .coms are taken, so be creative and think outside the box to find something cool and catchy.

    Interesting,

In my experience, nothing is better than an aged domain, and when it comes to the most aged, obviously the .com rules. The info. and others were late to the party, so you will be better off sticking with your domains that are the oldest, regardless if they are specific to what you are promoting, just use the right keywords and you will get to top of search engines faster than with new info site will.

I use to think the opposite, but time has proven that strategy was not true. I had a hundred domains with relevent names to products, yet in every case, I posted the same information on my older domains and got to the top of Google in weeks, while in some cases, I still haven't seen my other specific domains hit top 20, and these were coms, not info domains. I tried the net alternative years ago as com was taken, and it took forever to get on top, so I would stay with com.

    Good luck to all,

.com is better. Actually it is the most used. Googe will not see whether your domain is .com or .info, but it will not attract the user. People may forget it as we are accustomed to use .com or .org most of the time. They may mistype your website name..com has 3 characters and .info has 4. It is easy to write .com on the address bar. Actually I do not think it is good to have .info domain.

I heard that it is best to go with a .com but to research your options really carefully. If you have a killer idea and the .com isn't available try using synonyms for the same words to see if you can get that instead.

Also, once you've got your killer .com you ought to protect profiteering by purchasing the .net .info and .org and have them all redirected to your .com

Sometimes you can back-order a .com especially if the domain has just been parked and isn't actually in use.
