I have done quite a lot of link exchanges here on DP. Is it bad to have too many links on my site?

    Hi Behnam1123,

Well I think it sepends how it is done. If link exchange is targeted (I mean, the links concern other website on the same subject), I think it is OK.

    - Don't put too many links on the same webpage
    - Always provide content around those links...

Need confirmation from an expert, but this is what I think. Any expert here...? I am also interested as I run a niche directory containing a lot of links... (but not link exchange)

    Anto

Try not to put all the links on the same page. The best way is to give your partners contentlinks. It´s better for both parts.

Great point. I'm starting to have too many links on my "Partners" page. I better start integrating links into my content.

Yes, could be a bad idea.
Never ad more than 4 or 5 external links in a webpage unless you are providing (as the main content of the page) a list of something with their related urls.

If you list many and all are reciprocal, Google can penalize your site easily.

Reciprocal links can be suicide, its a very naive move that shows you are trying to manipulate SEO. Otherwise use nofollow or avoid reciprocals.

I agree that this is not a very good idea to have too many links, however if you are exchanging links with relevant websites with decent pr then its ok.
