XP have everything I need, and you to I suppoes, but when I will buy a new comp this year I will get one with Vista I think.
The specifications of your computer wouldn't be directly linked to how Windows Vista functions in every way. There are compatibility problems that will occur regardless of what hardware you have, but in the end I like Vista.
Why are people bending backwards and forwards for an OS that is not usable. Programs are not compatible, hardware is not compatible, just to say that your running the latest OS? Go waste your hard earn money and spend hours trying to figure out why your not enjoying your computer as much as you used to. Ooh, yes you get to say your running the latest and greatest OS ever.
saying that is not usable or reliable is ridiculous. If people buy a computer with vista installed and they have problems, they should talk to the manufacturer not Microsoft. Microsoft didn't build there crappy computer. All these people having problems is simply not true, it's just simple problems that have nothing to do with vista. I hear people complaining about the stupidest shit and blaming vista, like they say every since they upgraded the web is slower or the wireless they were stealing from their neighbor is no longer available, but oh ya the neighbor moved. The letter "a" sticks on the keyboard since the upgrade. There electric bill has been higher since the upgrade. Man drives me crazy.
In my opinion, it takes a while to settle in the vista style if you've used XP for a long time. And XP isn't that bad, and Vista isn't THAT better as compared to XP, agreed it is better, but not to a great extent. I am sticking to XP. Although I did install Vista myself on my sis's laptop and its not that bad to use either. Atleast for a webmaster like me and a gamer, XP is the ideal choice.
A new report from Symantec security researchers contends that Microsoft's much-awaited Vista operating system could harbor a range of vulnerabilities that will make it less secure than previous iterations of Windows. According to research published July 18 by Symantec, in Cupertino, Calif., a number of Vista's software components, specifically a handful of protocols related to its redesigned networking technologies, could become security loopholes if Microsoft does not fix the problems or ensure that the product is configured appropriately to hide the glitches when it is shipped. The Redmond, Wash., software giant is slated to deliver a final version of Vista in January 2007. Symantec researchers reported finding three different types of potential flaws in Vista's underlying software code, including the presence of stability issues that could cause the operating system to crash when presented with attacks that utilize malformed files to deliver their payloads. Other issues include undocumented IP protocols with no known purpose in the product and problems with some new protocols deep within the operating system's so-called network stack. Microsoft can do no evil. Well wake up there operating system has a lot a faults. You can't blame everybody for your Crappy Operating System.
I have got Vista allready. But i haven't got the hardware for it. when i get my new PC i'm going to switch to Vista Ultimate. (i have got it because i work at a software and hardware Store) so Discount
We all know that Microsoft will stop supporting XP sooner or later, but I don't think that there is a real need to rush into Vista for me just yet. Best thing to do is evaluate whether you are in real need to upgrade...
I've been running live with Vista for about a month now and I love it. Start up way faster but shutdown is slower. lol go figure
mmmmm.......why should I buy a computer 2 times better and faster to get the same performance? That's stupid. I'll just switch to a Mac and get faster performance with the same equipment. This Vista thing is playing against M$ with people who really need powerfull machines.
I'm planning to upgrade once service pack 1 is released, which should be by the end of the year. Windows XP is fine for the moment, but Windows has ordered all new PC's that are made by companies to have Vista on them for 2008...
I bought a new laptop and it has VISTA installed. I didnt like it at first, but now I love it. Shannon
I found Vista to be very very annoying, even with user warnings turned off. I'll try it again when they release Service Pack 1. Until then, I'll stay with my mostly reliable XP Pro SP2. /*tom*/
