Hi there I've been wondering... If the homepage of a site has say a PR 4 but your link goes on one of the pages that doesn't have a pagerank, is it still worth more than a link on a site where no pages have pagerank? Hope that makes sense - it does in my head lol. Thanks in advance for any replies.
The PR juice is depend on the inner page, not the homepage I cant either say worth or not without look at the website It is worth if the website is quality site because the inner page itself might gain some PR in future
Hi Lifeplayer Thanks v much for the reply. So, if it's a site like mania.com/ and you open a profile, and have the link to your site in the profile, would that be better than a link on just an ordinary site which has no page rank at all?
I assume you are talking about something like directories or link exchange.. its really rare that a site link someone on their homepage.. usually they have other page for link partners or related sites.. but yes it is still worth a link..
Thanks for the reply, Bogs I mean like for example zimbio.com - if you create a profile on there and put your link in your profile, even though your profile page doesn't have a page rank, will the link be worth more in Google's eyes because the home page of the site has a page rank?
Ah... for example, there's an ad here on this site for links from PR9 now if it's their home page that has a PR link of 9, and they put my link on one of the other pages without a PR, will Google still see my link as worth extra because of their home page PR?
A link of any kind from a highly reputable site will help that is at least somewhat related to your site. Even if it is on a low pagerank page. Preferably you would benefit from the main page with the most pr or link juice, but even a lower or no pr page is better than none at all. Also keyworded anchor text may help in some scenarios. Homepage or high pr page would be best, but you might settle for less pr page to get your link on is better than none at all.
