    Political and Current Events Editorials ? There are a lot of them, but a lot of fun...I have one myself, however, I did start it out with a magazine style theme with multiple categories on the front page.
    I found out that if you use that kind of theme, it is difficult to fill up the categories often with good content by yourself, especially if you have other sites to maintain.

    Mine started getting good traffic during the election (For my insightful political wit :)), but the other categories suffered.

    I have since re-invented it to just one post a day, and stay with current events and politics.

    Just something to think about. At first having multiple categories sounds like a good idea, but keeping it up past a month or 2 is hard.

    I suggest you narrow your focus to what you can contribute to the most often, and once you learn how to build traffic and readers (which will take time) and simplify your process, then branch out into other subjects, either n the same blog, or with a new one.

    There are enough subniches in every niche to keep you busy...I don't suggest being all over the place your first time out....that is, if you are looking to make some money. Get one thing right first, and then expand.

    I have just started with my webmaster's niche, and I have started by making a forum, but for my blog I am looking to make a pretty big variety, so I am going for a pretty broad niche.

    I am trying to make it look like it would interest people and try to keep them focused on to just one thing. Try and make most of the articles flow together would be my best tip. :)

    @Onlinesupplies

    I think Top news stories is good. You can posts articles about gadgets as well, as long as it's News.

    A news blog would most certainly give you a very broad amount of articles that you could write about. It is a great idea. Just make sure you cover a bunch of RECENT news and I bet you would make good with that site.

    It can be a little easier to blog about a bunch of different things..you'll get more followers if you have a niche. some people don't like to read about random things. Have that blog, but start a new one with a niche too.

    That sounds like a good idea. Keep it so that you can have two blogs, one that you just use to write down what comes to mind and then the other which you can use to really focus in on what you like.I like your idea. You must know a lot about making money online haha.
