If you have a content rich website with some decent links, trust you me, you won't need search engine submissions. It is just an eyewash. Search engines would come find you. Put a link in your signature and that would do the trick.

You shouldn't submit them to search engines because once google indexes your site all the other search engines will follow

Don't waste your time submitting to search engines. It won't make any difference.
I don't know why people are obsessed with search engine submissions, etc. when Google will drive more than 90% of all your organic traffic.
If your purpose is to increase traffic, than you should SEO your site, not submit it to some crappy search engine that nobody ever use.

Do not worry about submitting to Search Engines other than Google, Yahoo, Live, Ask, and Altavista. 99 percent of all search traffic comes from these five. Good luck!

It doesn't really matter if it is robot or human as long as either does not submit your links to many times. Once a month is good.

Anyone who offers Automated Submissions is just trying to make money off of you. Just submit your site to Google, Yahoo and MSN and you will be fine.

    And it's free.

Absolutly right, just to add a comment, I see it makes a difference on Google.

It seems you have a better start on Google if you don't submit and they find your site through a link.

It's not about submitting your url to search engine... in fact, they will find you instead provided that you have quality content in place. A simple dofollow blog commenting on a high traffic blog should do the trick in order to get the spiders to come crawling and then index your site. After that, it's pretty much on its own.

I was submitting my sites to the SEs when I just started building websites many years ago. Not now since links on my websites are good enough to ensure my new sites being listed within 3 days. Some within 24 hours. There is a powerful tool here (your signature). Use it for new websites.

Quality content is more important, crawlers will come on their own - you need not to invite them ;)
