create a site providing information (or a "guide" of sort) about another company's product?

Example: Let's say you create a site with information about a brand of some sort, or a specific product from a specific company?

Would they consider this a sort of "copyright infringement," to provide information about a certain brand or company specific product?

This might not be a problem with Google, but I'm sure it will be a problem with that company. Usually companies dont like their brand name used on other sites and promoted through on-page optimization and other SEO and marketing techniques, including PPC.

So might want to clarify all this before making the site. Google ads come much later.

Thats perfectly legal. Otherwise none of the review sites would have existed!
You may just add a notice saying these are regd. trademarks and you are not related, just to avoid any issues.

I'm basically talking about a "fan site" sort of website.

I've never heard of companies trying to shut down fan sites, that detail information, advice, and photos of their product.

    Anyone know?

Let's say, for a car fan site, with pictures of specs, would this be against the rules?
