Is it advised to self-hold your payments?

I am doing blogs for additional earnings in preparation for my wife giving birth in eight months. I'm planning to self-hold my payments to accrue my earnings.

For those who are interested, here's how:

To set or remove a hold:

    1. Sign in to your account at www.google.com/adsense
    2. Click the My Account tab.
    3. Click the edit link in the Payment Holding section
    4. To set a self-hold, check the Hold Payment box and click Save . To end a hold and resume regular payments, uncheck the box and click Save .

Is it advisable? If in the period of self-hold I get banned, will I still get my earnings before the banning?

I wouldn't advise doing a self hold - especially if you do not have permission to show the videos on your site - an adsense TOS that can get your account banned. If you are banned for copyright infringement, click fraud, and other TOS violations, you will not receive any payment.
