I've several sites (online shops). About 3 months ago, one of my sites, the oldest one and the site which i spend more time and money then on other ones, has fallen to about -100 positions, by the main keyword. The positions by the other keywords have also fallen down to about -10-100 positions. Within these 3 months my main site was up and down (from the 150th to 60th position and then back to 120-180th)... By the other keywords the situation is the same... The most interesting think, is that on Yahoo, my positions remained the same, and even grew up a little bit. The MSN and other se i didn't actually checked; the traffic from these se is minimal... If it is a Google penalty, I am wondering what might be the reason?! I have few ideas on this matter: 1. The programming of the site (a non professional programmer created it, in 2005). But if it would be that, the penalty should be put more time ago... 2. About a half of the year ago, i've found a trojan installed on this site (i did not find the reason then, how the virus might have been puted on my site). I've successfully deleted the virus (i guess i did it). So, this might be the reason. In this case i wonder when the penalty will be removed, if my site is clear now. 3. Before all this sh*t happened I had some links in footer of my site, to my other, related sites. There were no "nofollow" attribute on them. Once, i've decided to move'em from one place in the footer, to another... Then i've change my mind and put these links back in the footer... Then, when the "falling in possitions" happened, i've decided to make these links as "nofollow", as i thought that might be the reason... But nothing happened till today... 4. Another reason might be that i've restructurize a little bit my main page, once before. I've changed the content to some new one, fresh, cause i was thinking it would be appraised like an update. But nothing special was done, the structure of the site remained the same; the content and some drop down boxes as to sort my products was simply added...
