I have been blogging from past 2 years. I primarily write about technology niche - gadgets. A friend of mine is hobby photographer and has good number of pictures on his account. All he has got is street photography and abstract images. All are original images clicked by himself. I am thinking of starting a photography blog. But i am confused about how to start and is it really a good idea to setup a photography blog ? My primary way of earning for my tech Blog is adsense so i will be putting the adsense ads. But in my option, monetization for photography blog has to be different compared to the usual blogs. Getting ranked in Google for photography blog has to be difficult and rather than google, social networking stands better chance to increase visibility. If anyone has a photography blog and would like to share his words of wisdom ? Thanks
This of course depends on the ways you will use to monetize it. Photography blogs are rather common and usual nowadays so you need to be ready for a lot of competition in the area. I believe that you can always monetize almost anything so maybe you can find that little tweak that will make your blog special. Good Luck!

To monetize your blog, have you considered creating artwork out of your photos? For example, one of your photos might make a nice desktop wallpaper or phone background image. You could also content lock that artwork, which would allow you to let users download it for free, and you would still make a commission. To get the word out, you can blast your artwork for free on social channels. Pinterest might be a good option due to its visual nature. Also, if you get a WordPress blog, there are tons of plugins that you can easily install to improve your search rankings.
