is it a good idea to split words in a domain name

    i'm about to make a new site and wondering if it would be good for search engines optimization to separate words using - mark to from this mydomain.com to my-domain.com

    It is better having thisdomain.com than this-domain.com the second is fine if the first is taken.

    I think it is better if you get a domain name without '-' as the domain name will become easier to remember, however, if you take domain with '-' you won't face any problems in SEO as it depends on what type of content you have on your website :)
