I don't think Wikipedia evidence is acceptable in a Sharia court, only the Quran and whatever random Hadiths the particular court accepts as canon on any particular day. It's an awesome way to avoid change -- just deny any reality that doesn't fit your preconceived notions. Islam prohibits the peaceful modernization of their religion, therefore the only path left is violence.
