Hi there guys, I have been given the option for my site to be named either:

    xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxxxx-xxxxx.com or
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.net

My domain name is long tail its got 20 letters in it, is it better for my SEO to have dashses in between the keywords and use a .com domain name or just to not have dashes and use a .net domain name?

    Thanks HydroJohn

    .net

The human mind does not think about dashes.

    Example:

    "He Bill, go to 'blabla-bla.com'"
    Bill will think: blabladashbla.com

    Now

    "He Bill, go to "blablabla.net"
    Bill will know blablabla.net.

    Same with memory.

SEO doesn't matter but it's all about if the person can remember the name.

TLD is at a point where Google does not care. So for Google and Yahoo, go with .net

For some other search engines, - is better like MSN.

But just rely on The Big G :)

    Go with .net

All domain extensions are treated exactly the same and the search engines do not
care whether or not there are dashes in the domain name it will not affect your
    rankings in any way.
