So i guess US will strike on Israel too which developed nuclear power with neither global notice nor UN approval. Yea this will happen surely, this Global Police country wouldn't react only towards oil-rich countries, yea yea

There are many countries stable politically and economically which would surely be reacted if they developed nuclear power, so that's just BS and noone buys those stuff anymore. :bubble burst:

PS: alstar70 made a more reasonable comment over why, "we don't want to share the power, so we'll kill anyone who wants a piece and make it look like as if it were you the ones who are cruel" is somewhat better and true than saying "only we deserv the right to do anything because we own the globe"

Now where are the guys who claimed otherwise? So Iran wants to start a WWIII by protecting its seas, or UK wants to start 1 violating others borders? ;)

Iran kidnapped British sailors in Iraqi waters where they were meant to be, Iran even confirmed this with the co-ordinates Iran themselves gave, then Iran backtracked when it was pointed out that the co-ordinates did mean that the sailors was in fact in Iraqi waters & provided new co-ordinates that were indeed in Iranian waters, talking seriously AGS how can you say that Iran wants to be left alone?

You are either stupid or are lieing because you support Iran & the idiots that control that country.

I made a decision a number of years ago not to even try and dialogue about world politics for two reasons:

    1. I have yet to see a true political dialogue (discussion/debate). They almost invariably turn out to be intertwined "monologues" in which neither side really considers what the other is saying, but is intent on jamming their views down the other's throat...as is evidenced in this thread

    2. When it comes to world politics, most people are truely intellectually and strategically challenged...as is eveidenced in this thread.

You really think she wasn't under duress when she made those comments? If I was being held by the Iranians, who have such poor human rights record and disrespect for women, I think I would have said what they told me too as well. Very, very compassionate - WTF? We don't talk in such a warm friendly way about our allies, let alone the Iranians! She was so obviously spoon fed those words.

Which is probably why will have people to devote there lives to diplomacy. I think Machiavelli got it right in his writings - war is diplomacy by other means - also the world is a chess board and we are merely the pawns.

    Ah...very true!

    May I add...

The arguing/debating/discussion here in DP is just another extension of the war "by other means".(?)

"We are merely the pawns"...Some accept that and have a great lfe. Some reject it and are always in turmoil. One wins; one loses.

and who are you usa's and bush to judge saddam and his rule?
you basicly murdered a man. If Bush and USA are so worried about human rights why did you start the war in Iraq, thousands dying; why did you bombard iraq in 1993; why did you bombard serbia?
I think your presidents are the ones that should be on trial and i'll be a better man of all them saying they shouldent get a death penalty!

beacose he did allow them, but they were asking for stupid things.
EX: un investigators wanted to search a small non-working 20 years old shutdown complex beacose "it might contain nuclear weapons". Oh come on even a small kid knows that such place can't hold a nuclear bomb and not to mention nuclear bomb research. Nuclear bombs need ultra safe and modern places to be kept in order not to explode. And BTW we all knew there wasnt any nuclear bombs!
But even if it's your way, why didn't the rest of the countries go to war against iraq, for example why didn't italy, spain, germany go into war?!
but noooo only USA and their failtful slaves the british PM and goverment!

So now you know and most importantly mauby you'll realize that your presidents are the ones that need to be convicted for crimes and your stupid arrogance is what makes all the other countries to hate you!

"stupid things"? is that all you've got?? WEAK! I thought we were going to have a serious discussion but it's obvious you're a Saddam sympathizer...our people will be with you shortly :p

so what was he trying to hide then? his porn collection?
maybe he had components of bio/chem weapons? Regardless of whether he was trying to cover/hide anything...he was a "smart" guy. If he had illegal weapons he's not going to store them in a super modern facility! DUH. He's going to stash all that in a cave. If it blows up and leaks and kills 98.4% of his own people who are involved in the project, no skin off his back. He obviously had no problem killing his own people.

Doesn't matter how ridiculous the UN inspectors requests were, that is irrelevant. When you surrender and agree to terms you must comply.

I'm not saying our government is perfect far from it, but Saddam had ample opportunities to comply and he never did.

Who knows about the other countries. Maybe they knew it was an un-winnable war and therefore decided it would be in their best interest both physically and financially so they opted for the easy route, to sit back and do nothing.

There's only one country on this planet that currently starts wars. It's called America. Seriously how many major conflicts are going on in the world right now that America does not have a hand in . Iran has no other purpose in the world right now than being the next "Boogeyman" for America to go after to support it's war based economy. And when they're done with Iran they will fabricate a new "Dr. Evil" country and so and so on... . I can tell you right now that the true country they fear is North Korea . Why? . Well they're nuclear (they actually have weapons of mass destruction) and this is why you never hear anything much about them in the popular U.S. press because this is a country that can kick back. And America only goes after the easy kills. No doubt we will be saturated in the propoganda and spin till we believe that day is night and up is down and we all just sit back on the easy chair with the remote. But then again that's exactly where they want you.

It looks like clueless Agent Smith has regurgitated a dead thread, one that has been dead for over FOUR years. Too bad there is not an automatic ban for regurgitating old dead threads.
