Hi all... I am trying to figure out while optimizing a website for the best way to build his internal structure. Lets say that I have a website about sport stuff: To get into a product I need to follow the next tunnel : Main page > sport shoes > Man sport shoes > Product name. Now, I want to add a link back to "sport shoes" in : "man sport shoes" and in "Product name" . Is it going to help me with optimizing the word "sport shoes" ? Off course the website is not about sport gear, but it was just an example. Thanks for any help! Best regards, Guy.
hi what you describe are known as 'breadcrumbs' and can help with your seo and user navigation. you might be able to find some scripting that helps you create and implement breadcrumbs easily.
Basically you need a breadcrumb, I do it all the times, and its good for site navigation (for search engines as well as visitors). I think it does help in SEO, how much weight does it get, I am not sure
Internal linking also help in improving the status of your pages especially its PR. But I think, the most important benefit in doing so is in the navigational aspect of the entire site (most especially if it's an e-commerce one). My Two Cents worth... ArdRigh
