I did email them and ask about this, but no reply and I have a feeling we will never hear from them about this. Kind of figured this would be case as Google is not very good in the communication department.
This is how Google thinks, and you can't really blame them, as this is, in general, how most ad networks thinks: Premium publishers + large revenue = the rules don't apply. Peons like us + small revenue = follow the rules or else! Conclusion: Being a premium publisher has its privileges. Lots and lots of privileges, apparently.
Its actually not true.. I was a prem publisher for some time and also lost my premium status. You do not get a green light to violate the terms of service although you do get access to change the ad format somewhat.
Thank you for clearing that up Shoe. There are alot of people who have been debating this for a while now and with no answer from Google it becomes quite a debate for many. It is good to know that the premium pubs are supposed to be held to the same standards. Now the issue comes into when Google will do this on some sites that are clearly in violation of the TOS. I think this is what is upsetting most of the smaller publishers.
I know for SURE, about a premium publisher that is allowed to use adsense in conjunction with other providers of exactly similar ads as Adsense ads are (and that is not permited). If it was a standard publisher, that site would have received a mail by now.
interesting do tell ? who is this ? I just pm'd my adsense rep and she said this is not the case but she is very interested to know who it is.
Thanks mediahustler I think that because most known premium publishers are still show Ads by Google (Like Rapidshare) Moreover , Google doesn't reply me too Maybe the secrets agreement with G and Imdb Googles never kicked Imdb out of adsense unless imdb harmed Adwords. You might be see imdb cannot use adsense anymore
I am doubting at the moment that a sight such as IMDB is going to be banned, but you never know. It will be interesting to see if they ever start cracking down on their premium publishers or not.
FYI, IMDB is owned by Amazon. I'm sure there is some agreement in place and Google is aware of this. Or at least I would assume so.
I want to change the ads by google text to: Click here if you want to earn me some frigging money! How premium do I have to be to get to that point?
I would say you should most likely start your take over of Google now so that when you are done no one will question it. I would say about the much of a premium publisher to do that.
