How much days it will take to reach hostgator's inode limit of ( 50,000 or 2,50,000 ) ? Question 3: Here i want to host nearly 5 wordpress blog for now but this count can be increase in feature. So what should i use wordpress site or wordpress network ? Question 4: It is best to purchase domain name from godaddy and then park it to hostgator? Thanks in advance
As for your 1-3: I don't see any problem to do that with hostgator. You just need to set the account details to match your needs. About 4: I don't see what it has to do with it. Registering a domain has nothing to do with hosting it. You might get a package for the registering and the hosting, but this is something you can usually find at the home page of the hosting service.
I'm fairly new to this website stuff, but Host Gator made the process extremely easy. This is coming from a guy that started from the ground up. I've got no formal training in website creation/ management, but I can tell you this; I've been really impressed with Host Gator and their service. Not to mention the cool, colorful cPanel they offer. For a technology geek such as myself it's like being in a kid in a candy shop with Host Gator. I noticed you said you were going to go to GoDaddy for the domain names. I will admit that with Host Gator you are somewhat "renting" your domain name and they are more expensive, but I didn't see the point in going outside of Host Gator for the domain name. Host Gator is a one stop shop and they way I see it (or saw it) and I didn't want to wait an extra wait-period by purchasing a domain outside if HG. If anyone has a take on this I'd like to hear from you. I'm a total newb but I'm pretty good at researching the things I purchase. All in all, Host Gator is a good group to work with, bro. This is my first forum post ever! It's good to be here with you guys (and gals!) In addition, this thread editor is pretty nice. Just saying...
I must say that it has doubtful reputation. Some webmasters like them, some not. They have a great number of clients, so it is very hard to provide support for each customer.
Sorry, but hostgator isn't best. Its popular. I think you need managed VPS min 1GB RAM for good perfomance
Hostgator is very popular, and for good reason. I already have an account that I forgot to use a discount coupon for. If you want it, just send me a PM.
Yes hostgator will be best...as m using hostgator and bigrock.. both are providing best features and m happy with it..
Hostgator should suit you just fine, but once you start getting more traffic around 5K 10K per day you will need a small vps or dedicated server as hostgator will start blocking access to your site if it takes up too much server resources.
Take it from a former HostGator employee, they are not the best. There is a lot of ways HostGator lacks. Also, dont respond to any hostgator deals on here. There are all affiliates of HostGator and are collecting money on signups. By the way, it is against the forum rules to solicit that stuff like that guys. You just need to do some research as there are thousands of web hosts out there. Some are better then others.
We have spent sometime testing and reviewing HostGator and here is the bottom line of the Expert Review: Advantages - Network is extremely reliable. - SSH access available on all hosting accounts. - Excellent support team! - Free website builder. Disadvantages - Slightly more expensive than other unlimited hosts. - Expect 10-20 minute wait times for support by phone or live chat. - Billing office slow to respond to issues and complaints. - Heavily trafficked websites or those that use resource intensive scripts will be required to upgrade to VPS or dedicated server. Your sites are quite active and resource intensive. Just make sure you install cms properly to handle the load. mySQL queries may overload the server and cause your account to be disabled. It'll take quite some time for you to reach the inode limit with just 10 blogs....perhaps a couple of years or so. So it's fine that you get a shared plan now, and then upgrade to a vps later.
