I noticed that people generally selling/buying links on homepage.

Lets assume that we have PR5 homepage and a PR5 subpage. Assuming that other variables like number of outgoing link are same, is there any difference of putting link in those pages? Do you buy link on homepage or subpage?

Homepages ALMOST always have more links to them (because all the internal website links point at them too).

But there's no innate advantage. Analyze the pages and decide which one is better.

I disagree. It's better to have your link on a subpage that is targeted to your subject. Sitewide is bound to be noticed by google as a 'non-natural' link, especially if the site isn't related to your subject. A new site runs the risk of getting sand-boxed for having home-page links.

Yes, it's more good .. let me tell you why
Usually the people get all the links for theyre home page, so the home page is usually the most powerful place from all the website
    We all known this:
Usually : IF your home page is PR6 , then
    www.website.com/subpage - will be PR5
    www.website.com/subpage/subpage will be PR4
(not always, but in most cases)
    '
Now, pay attention on something, if I got a home page PR of 6 with 1 link to one of my internal pages I can (in most of cases) get a PR5, right?! but... if I got a PR0 page, and give from the PR6 a backlink to the PR0 , i won't get a PR5....
PageRank is just a mesior thing for the website quality ... for me , most of the internal pages have absoluty no values... they usually don't get more then 1 backlink , while the homepage got thousants of backlinks to it...

Just think about it, and I hope this clear in your mind

If a subpage and a homepage are both related I would definately say a homepage link is best. If however, the homepage isn't any way related to the website it is linking to, then it may be detrimental. I would suggest sticking to pages which are as close-to-relevency as possible, even if this means foregoing on a homepage link and linking to a subpage of greater relevency. Nobody can say for sure, I suppose you've just got to try it and see.

I will say, however, sites which have major respect in Google's eyes, and a high PR, relevency may not be such an issue and Google may accept that a site of such high-standing is recommending another site, however relevent, for a reason, and isn't going to penalise?

An interesting thought. Homepages generaly get more traffic, so a better chance of sending you trafic. However they are often more general, as such a highly related subpage with fewer links may be of more value (and pass more PR). I'm not sure you could give a blanket statement that one is always better than the other. Probably depend on the pages involved.
