Is HAND.BAG.COM (subdomain) weighted by SE for the keyword "HANDBAG"?

    Hi SEO experts,

I have a question regarding the usage of subdomains for keyword targeting.

For example if I have the domain HTTP://BAG.COM.

And I make a subdomain HAND which results in the URL HTTP://HAND.BAG.COM

Are search engines like Google that smart they will weight my URL also for the keyword "HANDBAG" ?

Or do I need to use http://handbag.bag.com

I obviously perfer the first option (experience, readability etc) but if it harms my SEO I consider using the second one.

Please support me with your knowledge and experience, I can not find anything online regarding this.

    Thanks.

I believe it's generally consider that any of the following (; - . |) act as a form of "code break" when it comes the algorithms understanding your content. With that being said however, both "hand" and "bag" are present within the domain so some benefits would pass through I'm sure. It's probably not as ideal as it would be without the need for the subdomain of course, but it shouldn't hamper your SEO efforts too significantly.
