Well the media has downplayed Bush beyond belief. Half the crap out there about the guy is an outright lie. Most people do not even know half of the real story. His admin have done some shady things but no more then any other president honestly.

You've got to be kidding me.

The media gave Bush a free pass after 9/11, they finally grew a set and started reporting reality and because of this people have the nerve of thinking the media is 'downplaying' him.

After 9/11 the view on him was good. He did a fairly decent job with handeling things in the aftermath. But since then and Iraq they have been downplaying him quite a bit. And before 9/11 they did as well.

I higly recomend a book by Richard Draper called Dead Certain. It does not praise Bush but it does not give in to bush bashing. The book is a really good insight into the decisions made and sort of "debunks" the whole bush is evil idea.

I admit I don't know the whole story or have an insider perspective, however the litmus test has always been how people feel about the country.

And this is the lowest people have felt about the country since the late 1970's when we had double digit inflation and interest rates.

And I don't think there's a Paul Volcker coming to the rescue this time.

People went to their president for guidance 'hence' Bush's approval ratings after 9/11
When people woke up to what was truly going on, 'patriot act, Iraq, economy, etc, etc' his approval ratings tanked to what they should have been from the get go.

In certain times things get passed that never should of. The patriot act for bush i suppose. The new deal for fdr.
The economy has not been the greatest but not the worse either.
Iraq is an extremely bipartisan situation. I do not agree with how the war was promoted with state by state campaigns saying stuff before it was verified.

I do not support all the reasons for war. I think the admin did a terrible job justifying the war. But I do support the war for a couple of reasons. But that is another topic.

Selling the war was horrible, the timing of the war was horrible 'dropping the ball on our real fight', not to mention that we don't have the money for the war.

The economy is bound to get worse, the dollar continues to fall, things are not peachy at all.

I will agree there. I think Iraq was at the wrong time. Bigger problems elsewhere.

And hasnt the dollar gone up a little recently? Just curious.

I don't watch it religiously, I know it did go up a 'little' if it's stayed there I am not 100% certain. A little rebound however, especially from what I have heard does not for a moment make me believe it will continue to go up, or stay where it's currently at.

Yea I wouldnt imagine so. But the nice thing about it is the dollar will rebound and be fine.
Though the dollar is worth little I just recently visited England and their prices were ridiculous. The inflation over there is terrible I am glad we are not like that.

I agree Iraq was at the wrong time, Clinton should have went in during the 90's. But then again, I am just another uneducated person like the rest of you people who support or bash Bush...

Clinton would never have gotten support to invade Iraq.

I don't think GWB is the President, Cheney is, and GB, Sr. runs Cheney. GWB doesn't have the brains to tie his own shoelaces. If you believe he is running the show, you're pretty much deluded.

I think, no I KNOW, this is the most deceptive, dishonest, self-serving administration of ALL TIME. They are all getting rich on the deaths of millions of people in Afghanistan and Iraq. We lost 3,000 people. They got rich killing millions of innocent civilians to "retaliate" and "combat terrorism".

The whole purpose of this administration was to rape the economy and walk away filthy rich, and they have done just that.

I sincerely hate them, and I don't use that word lightly. I truly do despise these people.

You base this on what exactly?

Invading Iraq would have been far different than any of the crap Clinton did pull.

Oh please, OH please, enlighten us on the greatness of George Bush. Please give at least two examples of positive things that Bush has done for the American people. I am sure if he is so great, you could at least come up with two.
