Guerrilla marketing will always be effective, but not always the best approach. It's all based on the situation and what will work best for it.

Since guerrilla marketing isn't as specific as something like advertising via television or radio, it can last forever. Nobody will ever become blind to unconventional marketing that they've never seen before. If it can go viral, then you've done your job well.

Guerrilla Marketing will always work regardless of what type of media and marketing advancements we have, what guerrilla marketing is emphasizing is the creativity of a marketer to reach out to the market rather than consume a large chunk of money to pay for advertising and promotions. So in my own opinion, yes this will work and be effective for years and years.

It depends on the guerrilla behind the marketing... Some people do it well... Most do it badly...

You are in the drivers' seat... So do it right for the best results...

For an effective guerrilla marketing it is necessary that you analyse the market and then decide the target market as well as do the segmentation properly. This will indeed help you to find out the results quickly and may be you get good results.

rahman is right, we all do need to analyse the market to see if there really good market for our product or service in order to decide which market to target. It does take time to do but at the end you will get good and effective results.

I disagree. You should know your target market first. The point of guerrilla marketing is to be unconventional and support your primary marketing efforts.

By itself it isn't effective. I believe it needs to be incorporated in your marketing arsenal.
