How accurate is this keyword tool in Adwords. I was trying to get to the top for a keyword that should have been searched for about 3,000 times a month. This means about 100 times a day. When I finally got to be number 1, this keyword was only sending me about 2-4 visitors a day. That's insane. I'm now number 12 for a keyword that should get about 40,000 searches a month. I only get about 5-6 hits a day from this keyword. Now I know what you're thinking. Your thinking my site does not look attractive in the results. Well, you're wrong. Everything is absolutely great. So are people just not clicking on me, or are these numbers a bit off?
The same problem http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1353704 Keyword tool is a one big s***
I think Google Adwords tool is great beacuse it was made by Google. But, I think Keyword Discovery and Wordtracker are still the best.
I've heard that no tool is ever really accurate, even the Google adwords tool but your experience is just astounding. How can at least one fourth of those three thousand not click on your link? The tool must really be off the mark
Jasonvan, try http://google.com/sktool It's another Google keyword tool, and you might experience just the opposite...the tool is quite conservative. Adwords tool is 10 times inflated, if you ask me.
It's not very accurate. This happen all the time. This is why I don't try to rank for anything lower than 20000 anymore
It's not very accurate as results are based on last month’s search terms and not real-time. If a major news story had just broke, let’s say “Swine Flu†then loads of people will search for it, as the news gets older then less people will search for it. Yet the Keyword tool will show it as a very popular search term. Thanks Brian
ive noticed recently its a bit off, specially for uk based results. SeoBook's tools works ok as a backup http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/
Ok, Here's some more info. I don't know how much I'm allowed to say in this forum without getting in trouble. I now fluctuate between about 4 and 6 for the phrase "singles chat". According to keyword tool, this should get around 90,000 monthly searches in the U.S. That's like around 3,000 a day (average). However, so far I'm only getting around 20 new visitors a day from this keyword phrase. What's up with that? Any thoughts or suggestions.
Look: http://google.com/sktool/#keywords?q=singles chat, (2,300/month for singles chat room) http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/?seed=singles+chat&adult_filter=remove_offensive&suggest=Hit+Me (155/day) http://keyworddiscovery.com/search.html (697/day) You don't need any explanation. Look what works in your case. I have extremely good results with google.com/sktool. Went from ~ 5,0000 to 100,000+ unique visitors/month in 3-4 months.
Yeah when you search for accurate results, use the Exact match type for the proper results. I also noticed with one of my sites that I managed to rank first for it that was supposed to have 20000 people a month visiting it using broad search but yet I only received 10-20 a day. When I searched that phrase with exact match it showed that only 600ish people search the phrase a month. Always use Exact match for your keyword, not broad.
Hmm...that's a pretty amazing thing. Google's adwords tool usually gives a good approximation on the traffic for a phrase. I have been using it for some time. Good seo techniques require that you thoroughly research the #'s on searchs per month. Are you using your keywords in your anchor text? See what the #1 result in Google is doing differently and try to emulate whatever it is. Sometimes the SERPS make no sense at all.
