I'm awed by the innocence of your question :D. Everything has a lifetime, if its boom for Google, decline isn't far am afraid.

Google is and will be the king as long as yahoo/microsoft can't get a better search algorithm and an efficient way to target ads.

It's sad some times to see how bad microsoft search algorithm is, when you see in the top 5 results for very important keywords some parked pages with almost no backlinks.

Don't get me wrong though, i would love to see yahoo/microsoft stand strong against google, but they will really have to improve a few things before doing that.

Well Certainly Google bring the revolution to the Internet ... But you should not forget ... this is because of Yahoo and Microsoft we are enjoying this internet world ... as they have added charm to this world ...

Google is really working hard and always try to make things simple ... I think thats one of the reason ...

History knows that any one who reach at the top will come to down soon ... but I hope and wish google should remain at the top ... as this is giving good money to many house holds ...

Nothing lasts forever, that's true. Google has sharp branding, and let's not forget: the "real world" (you know, non-webmasters) are already familiar with Google, have grown up with Google, and most either search with Yahoo or MSN if there's a toolbar available. In the case of MSN, most of my freinds only use it because "it comes up as the home page for Internet Explorer." Google is the default search home page in FireFox. So Google will be with us for a long time.

Not forever. And in my opinion Microsoft's live search cashback won't change anything.

Google is headed for a fall. Though they will not be beaten by Yahoo or Microsft. They are weak in that they rely on algorithmic processes over human processes.

For example, If I have site I like and trust on a certain topic, I will take his site ratings (in the form of his link page, or links on his pages) over a google search on that topic every single time. That is because of the trust. Google tries to replicate that with PR and computer processes but they always fail they are getting PWNED all the time. That is why with all it's corruption, DMOZ is still valuable, because of the Human editing factor.

The threat to google is from SB sites like del.icio.us, reddit etc.. sites where it is humans not algorithmns making the judgements. Watch that space for the google killer.

In spite of Microsoft and Yahoo introducing new services and revenue streams, I doubt they will ever come close to Google.

Google not only continues to command the greatest share of search engine traffic but its market share is increasing. On the other hand areas such as Google checkout and Google apps for business are still in their infancy and are set to improve with time. All this will only increase Google's dominance not reduce it.

For more practical information on search engine optimisation please vists our blog http://www.kronikmedia.co.uk/blog
