Seriously? Sorry but after the G+/YT fiasco and an outpouring of cries, "We don't want it!" this surprises me. I don't see how they could possibly come in ahead of Twitter, who has had a few years' head start.
Hmm, I suppose because of their sheer size and power. I'm not sure how much trust still exists but there is no denying their reach and power.
Google is integrating all its products - YT, G+, etc. Sure they are bound to reach the top in social network
Annea, the point is Google does not care about your or my opinion. About anybody's opinion, actually. They just make consecutive steps to become the leader of the IT sphere worldwide. They ofn the biggest video channel obline - YT - and they do what they want on it, simply because there is no alternatives. (Yeah I know there are alot of other video channels bu come one, who wathes these?). They have a solid free Gmail, Google drive to store your docs, Google circles to communicate... they are uniting all of these together and obviously are preparing for a sky-high jump. They do provide a ton of benefits, but we should use these with caution in order not to become unable to do anything without Google.
I would go with Google, Primarily People trust on google, so google constantly changing algorithm to give accurate information, what they looking for..
