Is google teasing me?

I have a site that I started about 6 months ago. I've been doing white hat optimization since I started.

On Monday, I noticed I was getting a little more traffic from google than normal.

I then was looking in my google webmaster tools and analytic reports and accroding to google I rank #5 and #7 for two of my money keywords.

    I get excited!!

I do a google search for my money keywords and find myself on page 4 and on page 9 (not too bad considering where I was previously)

2-3 hours later I do the same to search again and find myself on the front page for both (#5 for one term and #7 for the other)

    Now I am totally thrilled!!!

Next day, I am nowhere to be found for either term (not even in the first 10 pages).

    Are they teasing me?

this "dance" is normal for Google. especially for new sites.
you'll get used to this and you won't notice those fluctuations anymore ;) trust me!

Yeah, I see this happening to me too, but I think after awhile it loses all its novelty and you stop looking.

This could be a good sign for your site and your targetted keywords, I would work on your keywords more and keep monitoring them \ adjusting your SEO until you start to see permanent positions in the rankings.

and you'll also find that it results from how your competitors are doing SEO. The more they optimize the faster your SERPs drop

This is called Google dance and it happens quite often with new sites.
Just keep building quality backlinks and you will continue to rank high in Google :)

Their are so many webmasters that they content keeps updating daily and Google keep indexing them time to time . Thats why ranks keep changing . Write more posts on that topics or update them you may find them again in front .

Google is notorious for doing this but I think it has gotten worse.
