Google is about 70% of my subdomain which makes the most money and only 10% of my main domain which gets the most hits.

Yeah google sends primary traffic to one of my sites. It makes me a bit nervous to tell you the truth. I'm worried Google may decide to reduce my traffic, but I think that is a bit paranoid.

    Aloha Carol,

Appears that your MSN refferrals are picking up. Don't you think it might be a good idea to post your link on your signature here in the DP forum as many do..?

Believe it or not, many of these posts actually do make it on Search Engine results which could generate some additional traffic for you... Could'nt hurt...

For me, a top 4 listing on Google is worth 5 times as much as a #1 posting on MSN and 10 times that of Yahoo.

It bothers me that for many searches Googles top 5 may be nearly irrlevant to the keywords. What really bothers me is when my site isn't one of them, even though it is far better optomized and some of their top sites have only one or none keywords.

But when I get there it's worth a bunch!

My Visitor traffic referrals this past week have fluxuated a bit more than usual. Do not recall getting hits from Google Images before this week. Discounting that figure it appears that Yahoo has pulled up evenly with Google at this point.

I've really done minimal SEO op-work since the last Google update. I will get back to that process in earnest after the holidays and my return back to the islands from the cool in northern California.

Here is this weeks visitor traffic referral stats:
[MSN dominating with holiday keywords & Yahoo! pulls into a virtual % tie with Google]

    search.msn.com 59%
    google.com 17%
    search.yahoo.com 17%
    other sources 4%
    images.google.com 3%

I hardly get any traffic from google and the traffic I get from google is for very vague terms, I think that might be because I am sandboxed.

But my sites are new, I started this business in September this year.

My main search engine traffic is from yahoo, 65% , msn 30% and say 5% from google + other smaller search engines.

I have a large website with ~10000 pages, it runs for 1.5 years and isn't indexed by Google at all - just the home page. So, 2/3 of traffic is from websites, and 1/3 from Yahoo and MSN. 0% from Google.

Pretty shitty traffic - average 2375 from my backlinks and about 1000 from yahoo.

Not a single one from Google.

It's a legitimate concern.. After Jagger, Google pretty much killed us, and in November the number of visitors to the site dropped by 80%! We've found other ways to weather the storm, but it's really screwed things for us during one of our busiest seasons.

We've removed everything that Google could complain about (coop, links from non-topical sites, etc) and hope to god that the next update puts us back where we need to be.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006 DP FRIENDS..!
Posting my first Visitor traffic referrals report for the "Post-holiday Season". Since I was receiving a substantial amount of visitor traffic from holiday keywords, this report reflects what I might consider to be more "accurate" SERP results during a more "normalized" period. (Dec 26th - Jan 1st)

Without the holiday traffic which reduced my overall website traffic by some 18% the results have changed substantially although MSN is still my primary source for visitor referrals since the last Google update. Plan to start my post-holiday SEO updates this week.

HERE ARE MY "POST-HOLIDAY" VISITOR TRAFIC REFERRAL STATS: (Dec 26th - Jan 1st)
[MSN still #1 with Google pulling slightly ahead of Yahoo this past week. The surprise in this report is traffic from "ask.com". Unexpected... out of the blue but appreciated...]

    search.msn.com 39%
    google.com 26%
    search.yahoo.com 24%
other sources (link partners etc) 5%
    ask.com 4%
    images.google.com 2%

Compare the above "post-holiday" visitor traffic referrals to "Christmas week" stats: (Dec 19th - Dec 25th)
[MSN dominating with holiday keywords & Yahoo! pulls into a virtual % tie with Google]

    search.msn.com 59%
    google.com 17%
    search.yahoo.com 17%
    other sources 4%
    images.google.com 3%

    Howz your "post-holiday" traffic doing..?

I've still not recovered from Jagger, but a more efficient use of ppc advertising has helped stem revenue losses slightly.

    pre-Jagger:
    no-ref 60%
    Google 28%
    Aol 3%
    Yahoo 2%

    post-Jagger:
    no-ref 88%
    Yahoo 2%
    Google 2%
    Msn 1%

    I share Cartman's ambition...

I've spent three months trying to work out why Google appears to have sandboxed me... and I still don't know why. I'm sick of seeing a competitor with no content dominate my keywords, and frustrated for those searchers who must be disappointed by their site, and some of the other rubbish being listed. (To be fair, there are also a couple of worthy appearances in post-jagger serps too!)

So I too expect Google to make good its mistakes in the next round.

    I am getting

    30% Google
    55% Yahoo
    14% MSN
    1% Misc

But on my most competitive keywords, I rank best in MSN.

Now a couple of years ago Google was like 65% of traffic, but I am seeing the traffic going up in Google.

My primary visitor source is repeat visitors. Those that have either bookmarked my sites or simply type in the urls.

    Good content = repeat visitors

I use Google and the other search engines primarily to refer new traffic, and of those Google can account for anywhere between 0-80% of the search engine referrals.
