Is Google search still better? I've chosen to check the relevancy of the SERPs for "Viagra Health Risks" on the three big search engines and this is what I've found: Google 1. BBC article about Health warnings to Viagra users. 2. Article about the dangers of taking Viagra + Ecstasy 3. Article about health risks of mobile phone radiation Yahoo 1. Article about Viagra possibly raising STD risks in Gay Men. 2. Article about Viagra selling well in the Middle East despite Health Risks. 3. BBC article about Viagra risks being "Bigger than first thought" MSN 1. MSN Splog (Spam Blog) 2. Viagra.com "instructional video" of how to avoid buying fake Viagra online. 3. Spam site that is currently offline Summary I find the Google results marginally better than Yahoo, and MSN is obviously still extremely susceptible to spam. What came as a surprise is that the #3 Google result isn't spam - it's just plain irrelevant. The first two results on Google are relevant, but far from the most useful links you can give for such a search.
I'm finding that Goole is actually getting worse lately. If I do searches specific to my geographic area, I get sites that are everywhere from Pakistan to California. Nothing in Canada. In Yahoo, I am seeing much better results for local searches. I hope Google settles down that Bigdaddy upgrade. From what I'm seeing, it didn't really make things better.
I think worse results are because of non-stopping SEO from all world webmasters. It's really hard to find cool site now, I often skip 1st page of Google results to find really valueable info
