Hello I just launched this image hosting website, around 2 weeks ago, and I signed up with google adwords to try to promote it. Now, there's something I don't understand. In my google adwords account, it says that ive received over 88 Clicks, but only like 4 users actually uploaded an image! I need people to UPLOADED IMAGES Not just visit the site, and click back. Do you guys think google is the problem? or is it my website: ShareApixel.com My ad looks something like this: Free image hosting and sharing <--Title Upload and share your images No signup, remote linking available Please, I need someone to open my eyes. I dunno if i should continue with google adwords, Or find some other way to promote that site.
Well they certainly aren't scamming you - if you are using Cost per Click advertising, you are getting what you pay for - traffic. What you need to do is track conversions. You can set the 'image uploaded' page on your website as a conversion that Google can track. Basically, when someone gets to that page, Google will register it, and if that person has clicked a Google ad to find your site, you will see which ad led to the successful upload. With conversion tracking in place, you can track which ads and keywords are generating image uploads, and not just dud traffic. So Adwords may be right for you, but you need more data to tell.
Google are not scamming you. However, I suspect that you opted for Google's Jump Start package. This service provides you with a very simple structured account based around your website. The problem with Jump Start is that the keyword lists provided by Google are far too generic to offer the returns that can be found after a little creative and logical thinking is applied.
