I have a ws domain that I am using for a US based ecommerce site. The website has a 3 PR and is performing ok (page 2) on Yahoo & Live for my main keywords. On Google.com it is not ranking in the top 1000 results for these keywords. However if I go to google.ws, it shows up on page 2. Is google not recognising this .ws domain as a US based business? Any one else had an experience like this?
.ws is a ccTLD so it will rank higher in that country and not as well in others. Thats why its high in google.ws. So basically, as you say, it isn't recognizing your business as being US based.
I hardly see any extensions other than .com or the usual ones in Google search. .WS might be regarded as spammy by Google. Also, if you're running an ecommerce site, than it might be harder to rank a site for.
I don't see any problem. Google US and see there is a site ranking for first page for popular keyword "check page rank"
Thanks for the feedback. In my research I have found a number of non-ecommerce .ws sites ranking well in google.com as the "check page rank" site demonstrates but no ecommerce. Are there any .ws ecommerce sites out there ranking well??
