I went from just my homepage indexed to about 40 pages now. Although I am not getting visitors through google.
Still wetness then recovery for all my sites almost, my SERPS now even better with Google .. now I am pretty sure that it was a Google glitch So guys just be patient and don t do any change on your sites just wanna clarify again what I mean t with recovery : 1- Restoring back the deindexed pages to the site: and eventually to the SERP 2- Index new pages I v added recently so if anybody sees thousands of pages as supplementary with just the homepage is not then he still has a problem
Well for the last 2 weeks my site has been stable at 418 pages listed even though in the last month I have added over 100 new pages and my total is over 1000 pages. Just now it started dropping again and as I post I'm down to 292 pages. Boneheads.
I'm afraid you might be correct.. I looked at the cache dates for some of the supps, and they're all from January and February 2006! This is such a nightmare - My co-op weight is non-existant, and it's in turn killing my MSN/Yahoo traffic as well.
same here from40,000 pages index to 3,000 pages and you're right I am seing pages index early january also.
I am seeing a bunch of supp. pages from jan-march and w/ the SITE: command I can see the pages and the cache. But if I enter the URL into google it says "Sorry, no information is available for the URL" what gives...
It took the geniouses of goolge years to get here dropping our pages like flies and saying they have no more server space... thats what happens when you try and save money for your stock holders... whatever maybe another 4 years they will make it even worse
I don't see any burning pressure on Google to save money or any evidence at all that this is what's motivating them lately. On the contrary, they seem to have more money than they know what to do with and are trying to find ways to spend it. My concern is that any company that tries to diversify too quickly usually ends up screwing it up, and maybe that's exactly what's going on with Google at the moment: too many fingers in too many pies and not enough people back at head office saying, "Hey, guys! Let's not forget what got us here in the first place, okay?".
What I have understand so far it relates to link relevancy, if you have hosting website and also link with health and women and how to make online and casino websites, you're in troubles; I got one domain with 300 pages delisted down to 6 pages! 8 years old domain! ok, not perfect seo or something, but well estabilished domain with unique content; it turned out on link page he had like 30 recips and 20 of them was CASINOS!!! while he was in herbal supplement industry; Another case is one big website that has about 30 topics and quite heavy internal linking between them (from PageRank aspects all categories are PR5 and pages PR4) total 1300 documents but as google rolled out the new update with this relevancy stuff, it all went down to as little as 36 pages now; very interesting information gives google sitemaps where it is easy to see main categories or link text - then it turns out about 8 different niches so google (I believe) decide this as inproperly built website; next week we will do an almost self kill experiemnt and will remove all recip link partners to all these various niches (altough we keep them in relevant directory, say: site.com/skincare/ has link page located at site.com/skincare/resources.html But looks like it doesn't work; So 2 things to blame: recips or internal linking; next 1-2 weeks will show; BTW, msn are in love What to do - best practice seems stay on topic with link partners and very niched sites; or at last somehow make google believe the entire website belongs to that niche; still working on this ... deeem... bigest pain of 2006!
That's what Google is trying to claim -- the problem is it's not true. I don't do reciprocal linking except organically. I don't buy or sell links. All my incoming and outgoing links, with very few exceptions, are dead on relevant. I got hit by this and I'm not unique in that respect. This crap that Google is trying to spin about it being an SEO problem is just that: crap. They messed something up. Period.
I am not sure but Matt Cutts let that out like in example normal website had been in Ringtone link network; Another interesting thing is that couple of sites I know in high competative markets are still in their top 10 and seems doing quite well; so go figure; one of my other sites has like problem gets indexed to all 300+ pages and suffered only like 100 pages; so this is strange in terms of % the pages being delisted; p.s. how this can be so long? I think it is more than month now;
And another bit to add - I know persons in Pharmacy and they use very serious Recips all the time, we're talking about hundreds of links monthly; but interesting patern is that they use PR3 and up link partners; so this seems to have some sort related with authority sites? Even networks of them! Still looking for some clues!
IMHO I think Mistrel is right. Don't try figuring it out, because you can't. It's not link relevency, paid links, this or that, or any other crap Google is trying to feed you to buy some time. The issue is not with my site, your stie, or anyone elses site. The issue is with Google itself.
I totally agree i think it is all down to Goggle. At the moment they are testing different things like mad on several DC's They seam to test different things for a week or two.Then make some tweaks and test them again and so and so on. I have noticed this as most of you have going on for around 3 months now. I never belive anything Goolge says. If you wanted to put people of something what is the best way to do this. Easy by telling them if they do this or that then there sites will get penalized. I'm just sitting tight and see what happens. I'm in top 5 for all my keywords on MSN and YAHOO with several no 1's Trouble is i'm UK based and Google accounts for 70% of all search's over here
I had over 800,000 pages in Google. Last I looked it was jumping between 300 and 52,900. It's been like this for months. Are we certain this is even a glitch? Or maybe tightening of some kind of filter? All my pages have the same basic template... has anyone tried randomizing their pages, a LOT? It would be kind of silly to do that for a site, since it will irritate users, but has anyone tried it to see if this is indeed some kind of similar page filter?
Up from 300 to 2000, and this is holding relitively steady. Still a far cry from the 15k we had a few months ago!!
I am pretty sure that nothing to do with links, as I v said I am monitoring 50 sites some of them selling links and some have unrelated outbound links and many exchange links and the rest merely few static pages without any outbound links. When the hit started all of them get hit and now after they have started recovering I still have the static sites without outbound links with many problems
