I just read on internet Google gives top preference to: Wikipedia listings, SSL certificate, address and domain age is it true? If it is true, is this fair when millions of visitors blindly trust Google results
Google can do whatever it wants. It has a system, and that system may or may not be "fair," but it is what it is.
Google's results are based on the trust factor and providing a 'satisfying search experience'. So they take any such parameter into account that would possibly add to the value of the domain. Domain age is a serious ranking factor. Wikipedia listing if it exists, will come before your site itself comes in the search results pages (99% of the time). SSL certificate is not of concern for ranking purposes.
Google is fair upto much extent. Sometimes, it shows funny results. It need some changes in its algo, due to dynamic titles and urls. Sometimes I find nothing in Google Results.
actually there are definantly some things that i end up thinking that google isn't all that fair in some aspects. THEN I go and do a search on Yahoo or MSN and they are filled up top with paid results and such... That said I think google is pretty fair. Most of the factors they use ARE fair. Domain age and authority sites linking to you is definantly a basis for fairness, the other thing is Google gives you a process to rank well with them, Yahoo is very difficult to rank for and has stupid sites listing up high with the better ones ranked farher down
Google Results have many factors by which it shows search results on any keyword you search on it. Basically there are two major factors which is Content and the Backlinks.
As for me Google is still a best search engine, because it gives priority on old domains which can be possibly be dumped by the new websites if not prioritized. Also wikipedia helps people very useful information. Don't question the reliability of Google, because only Google knows what is deserve for your websites.
Emm.. didn't actually understand the 2nd part. Anyway I don't think its fair to say search engines are not fair as its their own way of algorithm. Example Yahoo thinks that domain keyword is one of the most important aspect but we cannot say them fair if we don't have that type of domain.
It was on the internet so it has to be true! I can make up a bunch of stuff, too, if you wish. People do it on DP all the time.
Google is fairest search engine among all the other search engine, Google provide value for money for all advertisers and quality to users.
Google is past its glory days, it's a matter of time now before we have some healthy competition again. All the force to Bing and Yahoo.
Their results are not 100% accurate; like any software it also has drawbacks. But so far the changes made seem to be good ones with some exceptions. Where did you get this change information?
They can do whatever they want. But certainly they will give advantage to sites which pay. If you are running a small business you have to do a hell of the work, and still you'll be behind those sites... All we have to do is to deal with it...
They play fair, but you know, many webmaster try to rank well and do do the blackhat tricks, the google caffeine might be better in filtering perhaps
