If you do search google for : site:softgroups.com you will also see that sub domain names are listed there like : labs.softgroups.com ; directory.softgroups.com ! remeber you typed site:softgroups.com ; not site:*.softgroups.com or whatever! So isn't this meaning that google is thinking about everything on *.softgroups.com as a whole?! However only if you type site:labs.softgroups.com you won't get listed directory.softgroups.com ; or softgroups.com .... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...-11,GGGL:en&q=site:softgroups.com&btnG=Search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...GGL:en&q=site:labs.softgroups.com&btnG=Search
I would like to add one more thing that google takes subdomains as a full and independent domain so if your site also consists of some subdomains then each domain will also be sandboxed by Google before it gets indexed. Therefore it may take more than some weeks for your site to fully get indexed.
Well , i obsered something more. everytime i am adding a new topic to my website , that page is also sandboxed. for example softgroups.com is programming related; i added a seo page (softgroups.com/seo.php) and that page is very sandboxed in google....
I haven't noticed anything like that. Neither subdomains nor individual pages get "sandboxed". All pages that I create show up in Google's index within a week, but usually it's faster than that.
That is normal... site:softgroup.com queries all pages within the domain, including subdomains. No, it does not mean that Google treats the subdomain as equivalent to the main domain. Try site:www.softrgoup.com and you'll see results only for the main domain. As for the sandboxing "theories", you're incorrect. See post by scottj above.
what do you mean "sandboxed" in google? I mean "SEO" is an immensely popular term, and you probably just don't rank very well.
Sitemaps definitely sees subdomains as differnt sites. I have seen this, too. But for something that isn't quite so obvious, check out domain.com vs www.domain.com. While the two often appear to be one in the same, having the same SERPs and PR, the last time I checked, they were treated as separate.
As I said above, they are not treated the same. On my main site, I make use of several subdomains within the general domain - they do not have the same PR or the same rankings at all.
