Is Google penalizing Article submissions?

Discussion in 'Google' started by toocool, Aug 31, 2011.

My site was ranked 6th on the first page.. Wanted to push it further up.. Found a decent link building offer in the services section (link - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2264720)..

Few days later, for the same main keywords, my site has has been pushed to the 5th page.. Rankings of all the pages on the site have dropped too..

Is Google penalizing Article and Press Release submissions? Is there any solution to get back to atleast where I was before?

    Please help..

No it's not... it's just bashing bad quality articles.
Check your grammar and content, that should do the trick.
    Hope it helps :)

Trick is don't write articles promoting your site product or service. Instead write genuine articles based on your site.

Google dont panalize article distribution, but it may if you aricle is going at poor quality places like too many poor quality auto blogs, it will make your link strategy poor and you might get droped from your current ranking, Its far batter to get 1 high quality backlink instead of 100 poor quality backlinks.

If those articles would be well written completely unique then you would increase your ranking, but as the service provider used spun content your site got affected badly.
If you had stable base of backlinks then your site will get back on the position it where before, otherwise you need to build some quality links to diversificate your low quality article submission

Too much submission may considered manipulation with so many duplicates. Better if you just choose few well-indexed article directories.

Article submission is still an important OffPage SEO process. But the the content should be Fresh, Unique & informative. After Panda update some article directories are effected. This is also factor.

Article submission is very important off page technique of SEO but you have to write quality and attractive contents in article and submit your article in high PR article directories.

Periodic change in rankings is NORMAL for majority of sites and is known as 'google dance'. Instead of worrying about this and trying to solve the unsolvale problem - keep building your links and do it regularly and consistently.
If you nich is competitive, I high recommend to automate your link building - that's the only way to beat your competitors and succeed.

Automating link building? Maybe in a highly competitive niche. Otherwise, your links should be all natural, so the traffic will be natural.

There is no penalty for article distribution, i do it personally for 1000's of customers every month, though it needs to be done correctly, just distributing same article to all directories is worthless, spread dup content with backlinks to your site, it may or may not have an effect on your rankings. Also this change in rankings can also be a google dance, wait for couple more weeks for the rankings to settle down.

Google has rolled out a few updates which they now use to check site content and backlink structure. Maybe you got a few bad links from a some dodgy areas. Maybe your articles weren't of good quality or maybe your site is not up to standard. How long was the site on the 1st page for? is it a competitive keyword? just carry on building your backlinks and adding quality content to your site. You should slowly see it coming back up again. I have had a very similar thing happen to me once.

Poor Return content will harm your site, so its better if you submit quality articles to article directories

    Hi,

Panda is a new Google update & if you had posted duplicate content than it must be penalized so don't make post copy content

If you can get a penalty for incoming links, I could crush my competiton with making irrelevant links to their sites...No, this cannot be a reason for penalty. Are you sure you don't have anything wrong in your On-page optimization?

I don't think Google penalizes article links.
Our site once was PR0 over one year, worse ranking.
The reason is the shared hosting IP we stayed was not clean.

After moving to our own server, we decide to do link building.
Article llinks play a important role on our PR back plan.
Now it's PR3 and "free ads" on the first page.
