Hi I am a little concerned as Google appears to be misreporting if I do a search on Google.co.uk for Charity Christmas cards I get just 205,000 results but a couple of weeks ago I was getting over 3 million and during the summer I was seeing over 1.5 million. Does anyone know why only a few of the sites are now showing? The results delivered seem ok, the same people at the top as I would expect to see. Thanks Sean
I have noticed the same thing a few days ago when doing some searches for my main keywords, such as "hotels Greece". Last week, I was being shown about 2.5 million results - today I am given about 500,000. If I remember correctly, I did see this same thing about a year ago, with a huge drop in the number of results, but after a while, it reverted back to its original number. Maybe they are finally starting to deindex all the MFA sites and the rest of the crap out there that has no original content of its own. Alex
I notice the same too, first results in the millions, then down to hundreds of thousands, as you say Alex, maybe they are getting rid of some of the junk.
Hey, You guys should checkout this thread discussing a massive deindexing that had occured. Things seem to be reversing now and websites are returning to the index. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=592737
keyword "easy recipes" was reporting 9 to 12 million documents. Now 502,000 I guess they are stopping displaying the exact amount of documents just to make your life harder when you want to choose keywords.
