Hi, I was wondering if Googles new instant search was causing typo's? Every time I type it seems like a typo appears, letters are missing, It has become very annoying. There is nothing wrong with my keyboard yet every time I type in Google instant its like some of my keys are missing... Has this happened to any of you? and if so I think we should start letting Google about it. They try to make things easier for searchers but ended up making it worse... If this is a glitch then it really needs to be addressed... I recorded it, so you can see what I mean...
i turned off Google Instant and it is not much comfortable to go on. it's true that there are typo's too.
I tried turning it off, but it comes on after restart. Atleast I know it's not only me with the typo... If this is happening to millions then Google is just pushing its users to use Bing. Instead of trying to predict what people plan to type, they should focus on what has been working for them all these years... Grrrr
my side still get the same problem too... bit annoying sometime when i am in hurry. trying on yahoo more often now, love the old fashion "my way"!
I was thinking the same thing about switching but I am so use to using Google. They need to fix this glitch or risk losing a big piece of the search market. Way to shoot themselves in the foot on this one...
They are just trying to innovate. I've never seen a multi-billion dollar company take such a risk, but I really do applaud them for it as they are trying to do something different like they've always done but it just requires tweaking and many people do not yet have amazing spec computers to take good advantage of it. I doubt any other search engine at the moment can take over Google.
It can be very distracting when you type because on slow internet connection, it will cause the display to pause for a while.
I doubt Innovation has anything to do with it. It was more of feeling the pressure of Bing. Why fix something that was never broken. For them to release this with this annoying glitch only tells me, they felt pressure to do something to counter Bings slow but steady climb. Now that I know its not only me, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost 1% of the search market over it, the glitch is that annoying. I don't know what you mean by "amazing spec computers to take good advantage of it" You have to slow down big time for it to record your keys, computer has nothing to do with it. My computer and internet is blazing fast and I can't remember to slow down for it, every time I'm searching for something.
In the technology market, it's always about innovation and surely with many years of following conferences, news and documentaries it's shown that in every aspect. A business only exists to fix a problem but when competition is involved a business needs to tackle problems they feel will arise in the near future to stand out, and in the search market I think this definately the issue. A good example would be Apple, who released the Apple iPod Touch a few years back, the MP3 player concept was never broken but they released it because they wanted to innovate a product they already had and changed the way we used iPods. That is exactly what Google is trying to do, change the way we search and if they do it properly it will actually benefit us and they are doing it to save us time with our searches. If you just one day woke up and decided you hated this, then you can't really judge that Google is trying to jeopardize their reputation when they have more than $25 million each day in revenue at risk? It takes some real guts but they wouldn't do it if it didn't benefit the future of the way we learn about speeding up day-to-day tasks. Google should not (and probably won't) become threatened unless they make a loss, which they haven't done this quarter or this year for that matter. As to your comment about amazing spec computers, you may have a great computer, but the purpose of Google Instant is it queries as soon as you change your search and most computers don't hold enough memory to process it seamlessly meaning it can be very experience for many who don't have high tech computers. When it's concerning the typo issue, you've got to realize Google didn't roll this out without considering these issues and simple errors like this can easily be fixed but I think it just requires getting use of the future Google and if you don't like change then you can go elsewhere because you aren't a Googler.
I personally did not notice typos. I don't know but I prefer searching in general without google instant.
