Is google Index Pdf files

    I want to ask google or for that matter any search engine index the webpages.So do they also index the pdf files present in these pages

    Yes they do index pdf files, and it seemed google attached more importance to links in pdf files, and I think maybe I should creat some for my site.

    Google does index PDF files but it is not the best way to make google index you because you also want to rank. Govt sites and University sites give a lot of pdf pages, but they are not too concerned about SEO.. SO better have an HTML page with a pdf file that user can download if you want to provide pdf.

    Well, I think google is a biggest company. So its sure they index pdf as well as flash too

    sarah_nyc, Google still really does not index Flash content. It is very hard to index anything other than the tags - technology still just doesn't exists to index the actual content.
