Is google images bot different then google bot

My websites www.justfunnypictures.com is well indexed by google but not by google (images)
Do I have to submit it somewhere? Will google bot (images)start indexing it?
What can be done to speed up the process?

good image bot is a different bot. I dont think that you have to submit your site anywhere special. Try naming your images by keywords, and having relevant alt tags. This should get more of you images listed under the words you want.

 

I have the same dilemma as czar - I notice the Google spider's on my site all the time but I'm still waiting for my images to be added into Google's image search facility.

 

Google images is only updated a few times a year. Its really hard to get into it.

Make sure you have keywords in the filenames, alt tags and surrounding text.

 

Any info available on that point ?

I've noticed a lot of images are now redirected to linkfarms or paid subscription sites, and the original images removed. Yet, the images stay at the top of the results for a long time.

I think so also that the googlebot crawls some times in a year. I read that keyword rich images gets high in the search result. So for example you want to be index a funny image about a lion. You probably want to name the image to crazy-lion.jpg with alt texten = funny stupid. You PROBABLY rank high on the keywords in combination of the image name and alt texten:
1 . crazy lion
2 . funny lion
3. stupid lion
4. funny crazy lion
5 . stupid crazy lion
etc.....

Yes, google images bot is different,it will take longer time to get your images added.

Use GOOGLE WEBMASTER tools for that !
and tik the Enhanced image search option

that will definetly gives more traffic to u r site !!!
