Is Google ignoring incoming links from article sites?

I submitted articles (original and genuine) to some articles sites like articlesbase and ezinearticles but still after around couple of months none of them appearing in backlinks in google.

I doubt if google got the point and ignore such links from these article sites where 90% people submit articles for backlinks only.

    What do you people think?

Have you checked in Google Webmaster Tools? Mine shows dozens of links from article directories, particularly the ones that have content & anchors with KW similar to mine.

Are you searching using link:YOURSITE if so make sure you have the site exactly how you put it in the article. http://www.yoursite.com is different from http://yoursite.com. I have had this happen to me a hundred times...

Plus if you are trying to do article marketing check this link out. I found it a week ago and have never looked back. if you sign up please sign up under my affiliate link.

Ezine articles now uses no follow on links in the article body.

Some of them are probably devalued because of how popular article marketing is, yes. However google's backlinks don't update all that often or show you all of them

Try using their webmaster tools area and see if they show up there

if you submitted it to numerous articles, did you take the time to make it unique for each submission?

I noticed this as well. For some reason Google is not indexing the articles like they used to on Ezine. My company has cut back on article marketing for SEO a few weeks back because it seems like the value of these went from very little to now basically none.

I hope that's not the case. I don't see why it would be the case because an editor approves those articles and that's a lot better than blogs or other places that have no one approving content to make sure it's not spam.

Ezinearticles still has dofollow links. Just because a link does not show up when you do a link:www.domain.com command, it does not mean that link is not helping your rankings. Google just shows a sample of links with that command. Google Webmaster Tools does show a greater sample.

With effective article marketing you are also developing multiple sources of traffic. So sometimes you have to look beyond just what helps your rankings. You also have to consider what helps overall traffic as well as rankings on smaller search engines.

google takes time to show backlinks through link: command, sometimes may be maore than 3-4 months, specially where page is new and does not have much importance.

Also sometimes genuine blong comments works better than articles.

There are some funny things going on with ezine. I built a website a while ago and submitted articles to ezine. Some appeared in yahoo link tool, but some are still not showing up (it has been like 6 months by now, and still nothing)

I then thought, that most probably your article is not popular enough to catch SE attention and therefor you might want to submit your Ezine article feed to some rss feed sites? Might that help?

I have quite good success with one of my sites, using articles and link exchanges as a SEO optimization.
