I think Google is nice for searching, sometimes it's not very good for using, but I still think its advantage is more than disadvantage.

I think spam and webmasters linking is the problem. Google and other search engines rely too much on links, that's why their search results are getting clogged up.

I agree. Also I think google does getting worse 'cause SEO is getting more available to everyone. Though the difference among the search engines is still huge in the favor of Google.

I think we are before a major update in Google's ranking algorithm; I would say it will happen in the next 12-18 months.

All we know that it's not hard to manipulate SE results since they run some automated algorithms and crawlers. Their workers are machines not humans.

I think that directories like yahoo, dmoz, business.com, etc. displays much better results than search engines since their results are manually edited.
For example, if I want to buy a UK hosting, I can't trust google, yahoo, bing, etc.

Instant search isn't going away but I despise it and it hasn't affected my traffic at all.

If Bing is reducing itself to copying Google results then I'd guess that Google are doing a pretty good job.

No and you might have known that Bing is just copying Google's results. There is no search engine better than Google so far.
