I added my article site (see signature link) to google about a week ago and it still hasn't indexed my site... live.com has. Most of what I've read is it takes 1-3 days, but looks like it is taking longer for mine. One big issue with this is I have integrated the custom search and there are no results when you search for something, I assume this is due to the fact that google has not crawled my site yet. Any thoughts of suggestions on how I can get google to index it?
What you think are high quality links and what Google thinks are high quality links are often two different things. Also what shows in Google Webmaster Tools is only what Google sees as links to your site. This in no way is what Google scores as quality links pointing to your site. Scoring can take several months. Free friendly advice! Hope it helps!
Ok, I see my site has been indexed now. Webmaster tools shows it was indexed on the 1st... wonder why it did not show up until today, the 4th?
I am glad to note that your site did finally get indexed. I have always used google analytics by putting their code in my footer to inform google of my site's existence and I have had crawling done...fairly quickly, within 24 hours! Do use it when you make a fresh site, next time. Regards, RightMan
I did. I put AdSense, Custom Search, and Analytics on it. I think it did take about 24hrs per what webtools shows for the crawl date but it did not actual show up in webtools nor on google until today. My site showed on live in about 48hrs... hmm.
I got my blog indexed in 4 days by google. Here's a list of things to do. 1. submit your site to at least 4 directories daily. (Above 3PR) 2. submit a photo to flick with a link to your site in the description 3. talk about your site on social bookmarking sites; such as digg, squidoo, etc. and be sure to include a link to your website on each submission, using the html link code: <a href="URL HERE">LINK TEXT HERE</a> 4. Submit your site to dmoz. 5. If you site has a feed, do the "Blog And Ping" method, and be sure your blog has a link to the site you want indexed. Be sure to "Blog And Ping" everytime you update your blog. 6. DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR SITE TO THE GOOGLE DIRECTORY SUBMISSION (It's pointless because googlebot will most likely index you before google gets to your submission) 7. Add new content daily if possible, try to keep content fresh. 8. Put a link to your site in your Digital Point forum signature, similiar to my signature. If you follow these steps you should get indexed within a few days. hope this helped =)
Dmoz... man, I have never been able to get my sites listed on it, maybe I will have luck with this one but I am not too hopeful. As for the ping, do you see any issues with me doing that when my site is not a blog? See the article site in my signature.
Ok, I checked out your site and I saw that you DO have a feed it looks like? You have a feed button in the top right corner of the site, and the feeds link is: http://www.myhowtoarticles.com/yadrss/ I would recommend burning your feed with feedburner: http://feedburner.google.com/ it basically tracks your feeds statistics and makes it the whole feed more user friendly. It can also be pinged once burn your article feed (the http://www.myhowtoarticles.com/yadrss/) to it. You should ping every time you add new content to your feed. Also, I noticed that you have a very small buttom in the top for your feed, and it's kind of a hassle to use. I would recommend finding a small rss feed icon (you can search google images for one) and replacing your current rss thing in the top right with the small icon insead. Also, make sure that when you click on the rss icon it goes straight to you FEEDBURNER VERSION OF THE BLOG, so feedburner can track statistics. Once you have all this setup, make sure that the blog link you submit to yahoo, technorati (and any other site that enables rss pinging) is the feedburner link. hope this helped =)
hey, jsamdirect.....I wonder, why ur site dosent open in mozilla!..did u notice that?...is it opening in IE?
Sometimes it could be long. I think the queue for new websites is variable and there are priorities in it. I had my website indexed by sending press release with a link. Press released websites are update every day on Google. Just be patient and begin to build links. It may take some weeks, but Google does index new websites. Also check that your website validate and you did SEO (title, description, content). Google will index it if it finds a value for searchers.
really? I have not had much short term luck (minutes) with new sites. I get bored and forget to check after several months and backlink update occures. do yuou mean an existing site and then digging a new page?
Links from Authority sites are high quality links... also sites like digg, hubpages, squidoo with links pointing to your site will help you get indexed quickly. I have had sites get indexed within 24 hours many times....
Is my site still not opening for you in mozilla? It seems to be working fine for me in firefox and I.E..
its opening now...might have been a server problem...same might hav cozd non indexing...any ways its indexed now, congratz!
