    The only time I have seen Google not respond is if I have been sending a spider through them checking my SERPS. They don't like that and will make it so your puter can't access them for a day. Any chance you were doing that?

    yes, must truly be your connection. As a matter of fact - I've never ever had a problem connecting to google as long as my Internet connection is up.

    I've never seen google going down ever, however gmail was down once or twice.

    Google.de is up again now 7th Feb 2008 at 8:40, but Google.com is still down when accessed here from Germany.
