Is Google Down?

Do you really think 'Google is Down' is actually a possibility for a billion dollar operation like they are?

I'm in GMail chatting and everything works fine.

If Google is really down, you will know it by the mushroom clouds and the 1000 degrees+ radiation heat you experience. It just won't happen on a normal day that they are completely down.

2. it's your connection
3. it's your ISP
4. it's your ISP's supplier
5. it's any combination of the above
99999. it might just be a fraction of Google's infrastructure is having some problems.

 

I don't think anyone is suggesting the whole of Google is down, lol. Maybe just one DC for a short time.

I tried a load of other sites, and only Google was down, for around 10 minutes.

 

I've never seen Google down, and I dont think I will every see it either. They have tons of servers all over the world, and dont think they will all go down at same time.

 

Remember when AdSense was down for about four hours last year?

 

Maybe it was your ISP. Contact them for a refund.

 

Was wondering the same thing about Yahoo and MSN. Couldn't access either of them for 30 mins or so from here. Looked outside for the mushroom cloud but could see no sign of it
Went back to google and Sherlock Holmes was waiting there (ACD's birthday)

 

I've had simliar issues all day. Then I found out I must have reached my Search limit for the month. Apparently I have Googled too many things this month. Sherlock Himself sent me the notice!

 

unless Google is playing a trick....they would most likely Never be down...they definately got back up servers.

 

I had issues with Google, MSN, Yahoo and eBay. I think PayPal also needed a refresh at one point. All other sites I tested went well.

Never mind! I just went on other sites instead

 

It could be an ISP issue

Maybe Google's one and only server fell over

 

Someone switched off the Internet.

 

The homepage pulls up for me, but I get a page cannot be displayed error when searching or trying to pull up adsense :/ I guess theirs no such thing as 100% uptime

 

Works fine here... There's no such thing as Google down (besides those things launched just recently)

 

Yeah ... I never saw G down .. Maybe once .. But only to US and Canada residents.

 

Ok it's working again, it was down for at least 5 minutes, not sure which DC I was hitting though :/

approx june 27 Google adsense page was down for several hours for my side of the world with an official Google message displayed on the server down page

hence i guess G had some serious tech problems that day
and incidently it is just the day the G serps drop occurred
