dude, its not the same adwords and text links, text links are sold to increase traffic and search engine rankings, google likes things to be natural and thinks that links shouldn't be purchased

I undertand the comment as per my reponse to it :D

I repeat - Google has repeatedly said you can sell links.

Just not ones that pass PR

    Adwords do not pass PR

There are also rules if you want to rank organically for free on their search engine

    Simple

This whole thread is nonsense. Google isn't preventing anyone from selling links.

Correct. They are however giving 0 PR passing power to those who do. Therefore when you want to naturally link to someone it gives no power and serves little purpose.

I would agree with your statement - but dont understand what the problem is here? If a site loses it ability to pass PR the sky is not falling is it?

It seems clear to me the sites Google has most problem with are those that are buying links to gain PR - with a view to "re-selling" that PR via a link, as a commodity, for profit.

Any many sites that have been/are guilty of this are hardly "flying under the radar" are they

No, they don't make the rules for the internet, just for Google. ;)
