Is Google cleaning their index?

bah. anyone sink back into the 'supplemental index' pit again?

 

The only way that you can fix it is to try and keep a step in front of Google. Try to know what they are going to do before they do it and be prepare.

I have not really seen any downfall with my sites rankings, but then I have not checked for every keyword as it will just take me to long.

 

Some of my sites did sink into Supplemental Result thing, other than that i've seen a little drop in pages indexed.

 

recently I readed that google banning sites which using dmoz data.
possible this index cleaning is a result of this action.

 

It am alright then as I don't use DMOZ and never will use it. I just don't like the service that they have to other.

Also, I was just wondering why they would ban sites that are using it as Google uses it their selves.

I'm using some dmoz data and I'm fine ...

 

just went from 1.4 million pages on one site to 208.

 

One site of mine did something similar, but jumped in the SERPs

 

I went from 30k to 200. I wonder how this effects co-op? Surely my weight has to go down.

 

ohhhh yes! BIG time! As far as the coop goes, 200 indexed pages will yield very little weight. I went from 20K to 125K indexed pages and saw some nice gains of coop weight! Good luck you may be able to recover!

PS. DO NOT recalculate you weight manually - let your current weight ride and wait for the automated recalc to happen

 

yep I lost a lot of coop weight as well. I hope Google returns to normal. I wish I really knew what was going on. I think this Big Daddy update is buggy then heck IMO.

 

dropped from 9k to 64 pages on one of our site.

 

I tend to revalidate my coop weight untill im happy with it lol Every time you revalidate it gives you a different number.

Something strange is happening now. site:thelocalforum.co.uk shows 29k indexed pages. When you click on:

In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 95 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.

You get 104 indexed pages...

 

Man, I just freaked when I saw my site went from 20,000 indexed pages to 650 today. I feel better knowing I'm not alone.

28 k to 700 , but other sites are ok

 

This is driving me nuts. I wonder what the heck Google is doing? I lost 2 page spots since they have taken out pages.
