Hello World! (my first post ) So glad I came here and read this thread. Its kind of put my mind at rest. Here is my worried post from yesterday on SEO Chat. I think this is my new home though! "I have a new site and last week it went from 100 pages indexed to 320. Then today and yesterday this has dropped to 245 and checking the data centres I think its going to drop back to 145, judging by the current pattern over the data centres. With all the talk of google going through changes at the moment I was hoping that it isn’t a problem that I've have caused. This is really annoying me with 3700 pages that NEED indexing! I though I was getting somewhere when it got to over 300, as it had indexed pages that are deep into my site. With it indexing deep product pages, even some of the ones with the briefest descriptions. I though it had decided that my site was worth indexing in full. This really isn’t a good time to be learning SEO! lol" Anyway I think a read of this thread explains it? Its still dropping too, 212 now.
One of my sites' index page got "unindexed". I thought it was penalized but it came back in a week and got ranked #5. Well, this lasted only for 5 days. Now its gone again. Google is killing me big time. I wish it clears other pages, just not the index page.
Yeah, I've seen about it too in a conference they had. But I do not think that it is really the cause why some of the pages and sites kept dropping. Frankly, I really think that it is because of the SEO competition in the web industry. As you may know and see there are a lot more and more people offering Search Engine Optimization now a days, and about 70% or more are doing it the "easy" or "fastest" way which may be categorized under blackhat method. Thus, large Search engine companies are doing all that they can to filter out those SE spams, but sometimes it ends-up filtering out the good ones. Even the best programmers in the world can make mistakes to you know. But anyway, my point is, internet marketing is evolving; search engines are evolving, and nothing in the Web Industry is constant. It's all about competition and it's all about getting back on top. And what we need to do is to think ahead of the developments being done by the Search Engine companies and be creative in the marketing strategy. That is how we can get back on track.
I have a website who jumps around the corner, with 80 or 14.000 indexed pages. That's insane. I mean i hit site: , it shows me 14.000, i click refresh, and it's 80. Google is definitely broken.
Well, I heard that Google isn't finished on the propagation of data with in the datacenters. That might be the cause of the jumps / fluctuations in the results. Hey, does anybody knows or can update us regarding Google's propagation of data? I'd like to be enlightened about this one too.
I had 14000 pages which is down to 400. This instability is shaking googles serps and reputation and it's not understandable at all...
Yep. I believe that is what Expertu was emparting. But still we didn't get an answer as to when will this shifting and jumping of SERPs end. If I recall correctly, there are several post here that started about 2 months ago. Meaning Google has been unstable for 2 months now?
seems like the flux in G is still crunching away ... down from 150K plus indexed to 12K indexed - i'm not going to make any changes on my sites hoping that when G settles down the index pages will miraculously come back.
Ouch! that would really hurt you. Although I can say were in the same situation as all of my sites are holding if not climbing. Sayles, have you tried building up links? If your too busy, I know someone who can do it for you.
My pages are still droping from the index. The bot also doesnt seam to be spending as much time on my site either. Its really getting on my ****.
Are anyone of you active in doing Off-page optimizations and Online Marketing? Just a little question I'd like to ask before we get too frastrated on the Dropping of the Indexes.
One of my sites went from 2000+ to 24. It's been steadily dropping for the past few weeks, no idea why..
I'm expecting the trend to continue ... down to just over 9k now but i'm not going to change jack shit until I know for a fact that things have stabalized ... as discussed in other threads, Google may be broken.
definitely!!! my competitor had a great site (still does) all unique content, i mean everything and went from 85K plus pages to 900 pages ... so yes its indiscriminant Actually here is the actual numbers past = 76,900 ::::: current = 196 - pretty sad to say the least.
The truth is that the data is still in their data base, it's just getting ignored because of some of the things they have done to tweak the system. I don't think Google ever REALLY deletes anything. Every piece of data is always somewhere in their system even if it doesn't show up in searches. They are like a huge "wayback machine" and could probably find the first page that was ever indexed from every site on the Internet along with the time and date they first found it as well as a cached copy of what it looked like. I believe they keep everything at Google. They just buy more computers when they need space and never delete anything on their database.
